right then, with the approval of phokus....I wouldn't mind making this into a nice asp/php database with a pretty frontend when I get some time(read: webpage). Cause this is definately some invaluable material...just the message board format makes it a bit unappealing.

I think what you have in mind is quite similar to the site I've been working on recently: http://www.junglebreaks.btinternet.co.uk -- I plan to update it soon. What do you think of it? It's quite basic cos I only know HTML (don't know Java, Flash, etc.) If you want to take bits from it/develop it or something that's cool.

i kinda like the message board because it allows for instant feedback and people can upload the breaks to the thread

im planning on making that list i posted into a thread similar to Cromz's FAQs so it may not be needed, but i bet as long as you give credit where its due nobody would have a problem with you making an active web version (maybe not though)

I got an Idea,

how about a searchable Links Database?

its seems a few people have websites already in place for Breaks, or are thinking about setting up one, I could create/Host a database that could be searched, the results would provide direct links to the files on everyones site, I could also create Login Accounts for the people who run their own Breaks/sample sites to submit new links to the database when they have added new samples.

Let me know what you all think

Here's the percussion-break from The Jimmy Castor Bunch for "ry-teknology" and all the others.
Unprocessed from vinyl (some hiss). I had to cut it into two pieces because of the filesize. I post it in stereo because you can use it in 3 ways nice (left, right channel and vocalcut).

OK well everyone's into the idea so if you want to do the coding (or whatever the fuck you do to make these things work!) then we can get started with the beats, whatcha reckon?

I'm willing to replace any dodgy MP3s with 16 bit 44.1k wavs wherever possible + I have a load of stuff that's not already up there that I will post up if we're really going to sort this out properly

The Grid will get some new features soon..
The site is going to relaunch in a couple of months, when that has happened I'll look into how to make make the Grid more hi-tech..

I wanna put the FAQ in a updatable non-thread based page, might as well put one up for the breaks section too.. I don't know if we can host the actual breaks tho.. This could be a way to get around the copyright thing as we are not actually have links to copyrighted material, just links to them..

I'm gonna make a list of approvements/additions, then propose it to the DOA Team..
