I'm in two minds about that one. ON the one hand, loads of people I know seem to have really liked it, on the other hand, I didn't enjoy his previous two books much. Tell us what you think when you're done

Clive Barker - Coldheart Canyon

Barker has such a crazy imagination, i'm not even sure what to make of this, weird & sick yet gripping... good stuff!

I just finished 'Dancers at the End of Time' by Michael Moor***** which I thought was brilliant. IT's this weird parody of victorian utopian sci fi combined with a parody of some of his own work. Very funny. Just reading 'Disgrace' by JM Coetzee now.

Very odd one that, Legends at the End of Time is good too, although its mainly a collection of short stories.

I'd also recommend Glorianna the Unfulfilled Queen by Moorcock.

ok fuck it i told the pickwick papers to fuck off because while i enjoyed the little antidotes i figured it would probably be 900 pages of the same type of stuff and i need a story that goes somewhere

so

i am reading

Fortress of Solitude

only 15 pages in or something but the language is fucking awesome

looking forward to getting into it

Ian McDonald - Speaking In Tongues

Floating Dogs FTW

McDonald, Neal Stephenson & William Gibson are a kind of cyberpunk holy trinity IMHO

The Fortress of Solitude is amazing, at least i thought so. I haven't read his latest novel yet, but I hope it can live up to that one.

I bought a copy of 'the stars my destination' on your recommendation, but I haven;t read it yet as I'm just about to start 'The Count of Monte Cristo', and I don't want to spoil a 1300 page novel full of cliffhangers by reading a 200 page one with the same plot (or at least very similar). I'll probably read it right after though.
