Firstly, thanks for all you've done with the US and San Francisco scene, you really are a trooper.

1. Your drumwork always blow me away... if you had one good "aha!" tip for making drums crunchy what would it be.

2. How do you see the online/iTunes space developing for dnb? What would you like to see happen?

See you again soon.

shouts to dean, echo, and all the other SF crew.

When will the Helmet Kidz reform and release the Special Education album promised to us years ago in Vice Magazine?

For dogs visiting the west coast, what names should we be looking out for in terms of parties, promoters, crews, and generally having a good time?

congrats on all the success btw....you've done alot for stateside dnb
- i don't get secondary screening at the airport as much.

- i think that D&B needs more serious artist albums in the CD market for the genre to be more recognized.

- thanks.

dunno man that's a hard question. to be honest, I'm at the point now where the idea of remixing is not all that attractive. I wanna make new music.

that's hard to say. I think tunes are gonna be pirated regardless. there needs to be an avenue for people who don't buy vinyl to get our music and I'd like to believe that people out there are good natured and dont wanna steal...at the same time I'm not ignorant. I know that sharing runs rampant, but just know that we work our asses off and barely make a decent living at this so please support where you can.

just wonder what tyour opinion is on which u think could and possibly will improve the scene most or even just change it most etc...

peace
i think that production technology has opened things up for anyone to be able to make a track but at the same time I think quality is suffering. I'm not gonna say that you can't make a good sounding tune in all software, but I'm personally into the sound of analog mixdowns. everything on Violence Recordings except for two remixes were analog.

i think it's especially important these days when so many dj's are playing tunes out on CD. with vinyl and dubplates, the sound ends up containing only the frequencies that are pleasing to the human ear. with cd's, any frequency is let through and when you take digital mixdowns with too much high frequency content for example, you are really hurting the ears of people on the dancefloor. I wont go too far on that tangent, but I'd like to see more producers who want to get their music out pick up a decent mixing desk and spend some money on their studio to get their stuff sounding fat.

most producers aren't experimenting with different time signatures because it really fucks up the DJ! that's something more fit for a CD album release. the D&B scene kinda frowns on anything experimental for the most part because it's not fit for the dancefloor, and as a dj, I understand all that. but in the end, this is music and there's room for everything. these days with mp3 sites and how cheap it is to manufacture CD's, it's way easier for the bedroom producer to get his or her music heard.
