SKREAM "OUTSIDE THE BOX" ALBUM INFO

Skream's ascent into the EDM lexicon came on pretty rapidly - he was still in his teens when his particular brand of dubstep starting touching down, and has since been considered one of the torchbearers of the scene, helping expand the sound outside of the dubstep clubs into the mainstream, with his tracks in constant rotation on stations like Radio 1, cover stories on NME, DJ and Mixmag, and a load of support on the festival circuit - both for his massive tracks (like his remix of La Roux's "In For The Kill") as well as his turntable/live set talents. We recently covered his Magnetic Man project with Benga and Artwork, but forgot that he has his own album set to drop on the 9th of August!

Skream Outside The Box

Tracklist:

Standard CD version

01 Perferated
02 8 Bit Baby (feat. Murs)
03 CPU
04 Where You Should Be (feat. Sam Frank)
05 How Real (feat. Freckles)
06 Fields Of Emotion
07 I Love The Way
08 Listenin' To The Records On My Wall
09 Wibbler
10 Metamorphosis
11 Finally (feat. La Roux)
12 Reflections (feat. dBridge & Instra:mental)
13 A Song For Lenny
14 The Epic Last Song

The Deluxe CD version will be a limited-edition 2xCD, with CD2 being a batch of brand-new Skreamizm tracks!

4x12" Vinyl version (Boxed Set)

A1 8 Bit Baby (Instrumental)
B1 Where You Should Be (feat. Sam Frank)
C1 How Real (feat. Freckles)
D1 Fields Of Emotion
E1 I Love The Way
F1 Wibbler
G1 Reflections (feat. dBridge & Instra:mental)
H1 The Epic Last Tune

In terms of sound, of course you'll get some nasty, wobbly dubstep mayhem ("Wibbler"), but there's also some hardcore/jungle techno influences ("Listenin' To The Records On My Wall", "The Epic Last Tune"), a bit of Hip-Hop (the Murs-featuring "8 Bit Baby"), and the Auntonomic stylings of "Reflections" with dBridge & Instra:mental. It's a mixed bag, and a true testament to Skream's evolution as a producer... a 25 year old with a batch of influences and a knack for pushing boundaries. Think outside of the box... he has.

This dude is definately on the radar in the States, and not just in niche dubstep circles. I'm glad he's collabing w/ a solid underground hip-hop artist like Murs, & if that's the same La Roux that's been getting pop spins w/ "Bullet Proof" that'll be even more penetration into the mainstream.

I'm personally more into Silkie, Kryptic, Scuba, Burial, Kode9, Benga, Sub Swara, Excision, Trill Bass, etc. But props to Skream for flying the bass flag high
