BLACK SUN EMPIRE: FROM THE SHADOWS

Back in May, we broke news of a new, all-Drum & Bass album from Black Sun Empire being on the horizon. It was kind of amazing that they're taking it back to their DnB roots, as Lights & Wires, which showed their take on more than just Drum & Bass, was definitely successful. Most acts don't go back, but most acts aren't BSE. Stepping From The Shadows, Black Sun Empire are dropping the Drum & Bass they're known for: dark, tech-y and dancefloor smashing:

Drawing upon their rich history within the scene Black Sun Empire keep this latest long player feeling fresh with a deluge of features including mau5trap signed MC group Foreign Beggars, New Zealand singer-songwriter Thomas Oliver, Czech cinematic scorer Rido and fellow Dutch drum & bass stars Noisia. This is an unbending, unapologetic, fully charged album that’s infused with dark and brooding atmospheres and offers Black Sun Empire’s immense global fan base twelve brand new and unheard tracks.

And from the opening bars of Black Sun Empire's 'Feed The Machine' ft. Noisia to the closing moments of the trio's solo track 'Battalion' it's clear that the drum & bass veterans know exactly how to put an album together. From The Shadows flows like an album should. Filled with highs and lows, changes in mood and style, grinding techno-fuelled bass one minute, beautiful wide open vocal-led breakdowns the next, this is an inspired project that feels expertly executed; Black Sun Empire's cumulative knowledge over five albums clearly shines through here.

From The Shadows drops on the 1st of October worldwide. Check out the cover art and tracklist below...

Cheeky move showing a tracklist and artwork without a single bit of audio. Bullshit.

nice artwork, and judging from the free Delorean track - this might actually be a great album

Going by BSE's past track record, it's bound to be good.

Black Sun Empire
These guys are essential to Drum and Bass. They were founders even visionary and still going strong. Their art and talent has always been amazing and the amount they do for the industry and with the industry is unparallelled. Thanks BSE can't wait for this. Driving insane. KF
