Adam Freeland is a piss artist

Ok, not strictly dnb, not dnb at all actually but an off topic point.

Went to the Love Planet festival this weekend here in the Czech Republic, Zinc definitely the high point - played a 4 hour set to cover the non-arrival of roni size due to the airport strike in the uk. Result.

What really stood out though, was Adam Freeland.

He arrived on stage 45 minutes late, clutching a bottle of tequila, and had with him some aussie bloke, clearly a mate, with a mic who took to laring and hollering into the microphone in the style of some pissed bloke who had taken to the stage during a rock concert. I kept waiting for the bouncers to drag him off, but Adam passed him the tequila bottle and it seemed he was there to stay. Horrendous.

But that wasn't the half of it.

He mixed out his first tune without cueing in the second one, and just stopped the deck. Carried on listening to the mix in his headphones. Incredible. Took him about 20 seconds to work it out and he just flipped the crossfader over about a minute into the tune. He didn't make a clean mix throughout the entire set.

Also spilt an entire half pint of orange stuff (presumably screwdriver) over one of his decks. And the grand finale? Danced away from the decks towards his aussie mate still screeching into the mike, with his headphones cable attached to his belt, and pulled the mixer and one of the decks clear off the desk.

I've never seen anything like it. He turned up a bit later in one of the tents and was staggering about like a kings cross tramp. Really, really sad.

they apparently became mates when they were listed to play after each other, brandon block was dj'ing when alex p went to introduce himself, and brandon racked racked a huge line of coke for alex, on the record that was playing at the time.

Got an Adam Freeland CD of him at Fabric but it says that it's been recorded then fucked with on a mac so I wonder if it was all recorded on separate tracks and then stuck back together after......

btw did anyone see that drug programme on english tv (BBC2) recently?? they would do an hour show for each of the major drugs.

on the ecstasy programme, they went undercover with a pill dealer in a club, and he was mates with brandon block, who came str8 up to the bloke with the hidden camera, (chewing his face off, eyes rolling) and asked him if he wanted any pills, then when the bloke said yes, he went off to find some, gets his mates last one, and sold it to the reporter for £10. he must have gone to all this trouble for a fiver max.

then afterwards he goes on to the reporter for about 10 mins saying "yeah i didnt give you this"


propa roffles cos i think that at the time, brandon block was still on radio 1's books!!!!!!!!!

the set he played here on friday was nothing short of amazing, his mixing was spot on and the vibe he managed to create to a very non-responsive audience was really good. in the beginning of his set people were just standing around after this really bad rap-act (inspectah deck) and when he finished the place was pumping!



too bad for the czech people that he did what he did, i assure you i took him to the plane in good health! its not my fault! :D
