Shrinz/Next Level Nature: Amex & Kaisa - Tilt Recordings
Two slices of techno pie from Germany's Tilt recordings camp; each served up with a healthy dollop of darkness, straight from the lair of Amex and Kaiza. Shrinz is a pounding bass heavy affair, with more than a wink and a nod to the Detroit scene. It's unusual rhythm section seems to comprise mainly of cowbells and whistles, but still manages to retain the roll and punch needed to drive the track forward... and then stamp on anything in its way. On the flip is a more traditional tech inspired monster full of atmospheric stabs and noises. The tune rolls out nicely, punctuated by mini breaks that ensure the energy stays high. All in all, a strong 12" from the German boys. One for the dark tech fiends.
