Drum & bass production on the Nintendo DS!

haha yeah, someone's released a little tracker program for the DS... bit basic but it's pretty cool for working on break arrangements and edits etc when you haven't got a pc handy.

Also, check out this TR909 emulator:

Christ, I hate you small minded fools for continuing to hate on them--it's the reason dnB is in such a sorry state today, you reductive-ass idiots. You don't like their "advanced" version of DnB? Go work that hard to make your own. Go blow dnB out in another direction, make it into your own new thing, do something ANYTHING to advance the sound.

Or, you know, go make the 50 millionth deep drumfunk track and shove it up your ass with the rest.

youll need a flash cart for DS, supercard, M3 or maybe G6??

it lets you use homebrew like the drum machines, roms, emulators watch videos & play mp3s on your DS...

i use a supercard SD with a 1gig SD memory card

the 909 drum machine is a basic one, works great tho you are just limited to full velocity and 1 kit...

i cant get the tracker working atm, but if it did work it would be sweet as its basially a sampler/drum machine... cus im not into trackers the interface is bound to annoy me tho... i mean who the fuck measues bars in 01-0f?? whats wrong with normal numbers like 1-16? :P

potentially the tracker could be wicked fun tho as it will load any wav sample (within the size restriction, i think its about 4mb), but i cant comment cus it isnt working here atm....

griff is great imo, so is nanoloop on GBA, but i think buying a handheld device just for griff would be stupid...

if you want a DS get it for the games, theres shit loads of good ones imo, and look at homebrew & emulators, movies & mp3 etc as a bonus....

djdna is there any chance an 8 yr old kid could get his head around that tracker?
he has already had a go at fruity loops. he makes dif patterns with the stock drum kit that autoloads.

sure i dont see why not, it seems pretty simple as far as sequencers/samplers go, but im judgign that from just looking at the interface, which you can see above in MiLOs post......

BUT actually making the DS "homebrew ready" is pretty complicated... its just getting your head round how it all works thats difficult, once you know its easy... but because of the complications of using a flash cart and flashing the DS etc... id say i wouldnt recommend that to any 8 year old...

maybe if you did that bit for him?? assuming you know the emulators/roms scene and basic pc stuff...

obviously... you wouldnt buy a pocket pc JUST for griff... yes, that would be stupid!

pocket pcs are most definately a worthy purchase though... i recently went to India for 10 days... 8 hour flight each way so i took my PSP and my pocket pc. The PSP didnt even get a look in!!!
Games and movies on the PPC kept me entertained all the way and back. The whole trip i didnt even pick up the PSP... weird.

Its all about warfare incorporated on PPC... just like command and conquer... too sick.
