For the Ambient lovers...
I trawled the DNBA forum in the past few days for Ambient sets and this is what came up. Entitled 'Snowfall', it's been compiled by The Tornado, and features some incredibly beautiful Ambient tracks, those of which encompass piano, Minimal Techno aesthetics and a whole lot more besides.
The tracklist:
01. 0.00-4.19 - Roger Eno - Winter Music - All Saints (From the album "Between Tides")
02. 4.20-7.33 - Max Richter - Organum - 13071 (From the album "The Blue Notebooks")
03. 7.34-11.35 - The Dead Texan - Beatrice Pt. 2 - Kranky (From the album "The Dead Texan")
04. 11.36-16.22 - Steve Roach - Something In Tears - Fortuna (From the album "Quiet Music")
05. 16.23-19.11 - Tor Lundvall - Clearing Sky - Strange Fortune (From the album "Empty City")
06. 19.12-27.45 - Yagya - Snowflake 6 - Force Inc. Music Works (From the album "Rhythm of Snow")
07. 27.46-32.04 - Sickoakes - Wedding Rings & Bullets In The Same Golden Shrine (Part I) - Type Records (From the album "Seawards")
08. 32.05-38.36 - Brian McBride - Overture (For Other Halfs) - Kranky (From the album "When The Detail Lost Its Freedom")
09. 38.37-44.06 - Eluvium - Everything To Come - Temporary Residence Limited (From the album "Talk Amongst The Trees")

Now he's sighted the purpose of creation as "a mix/compilation for sitting around and watching the snow fall to", but I'd attest this will be worth more than backing music for the cold seasons alone. If you've ever listened to ASC's Deep Space mix series, SC Podcast additions 4 & 20, and/or other assorted mixes of similar theme then I'm sure you'll find something you like in this.
Tracks one, three and six caught my interest the most on the first few listens, but that's not to say the rest aren't enjoyable listening.
Anyway, see what you think. I'm sure he'll appreciate your feedback
