still things first,

a good template with parallel compression and sidechaining, done with flp tools would be nice.

is there a way to controle starting time in "playlist" ?

A little write up on how to apply sends would be great. I can add effects to the send channel, but how do I send a sample or other FX channels to the send?

That and any tips on automation would be great. I never used it because back in the early releases of fruity it used to be such a pain in the ass.

Thanks man for doing this.

I have a studio condenser mic for vocals and a TV tuner on my PC I can record samples from, if you ever need or want something let me know and I'll hit you up.

you can use 4 sent channels in flp

if you check for "fruity sent" in any mixer channel in flp, exept 4 the master channel, 1st one at the bus you put the sent output.

then you can stil do anything you like on that output instead of 8, you have still 7 fx ports left.

Automation:

For example; You want to automate the 'cut' of a sample, you right click on the cut, you'll see this option called "Create automation clip" click on that. You can draw the automation clip in your playlist.

If you have a midi controller you can right click the 'cut' and click on 'link controller' you choose the controller you want. Next you draw a pattern beneath the pattern you want to control, click the record button, press play, and while it's playing you can turn the knob you assigned to the cut to achieve the affect you want.

Sorry for my fucked up English

No that's great. I understand it completely.

So in order to automate a certain pattern in the playlist I have to have an empty pattern under it and draw in to the playlist under the sample at whatever point in the playlist I want to automate the pattern above it? Correct or?

Also do I have to have the automation pattern selected when I record the automation, or does that not matter?

If you want to automate it with a midi controller, yes.

If you do it the "Create automation clip" way, you just put the clip in the 'audio clip' section of the playlist.

SENDS

FL6 and below

EDIT: I should have said turn nob to apply a % of signal to send channel

FL7

By clicking on another fx channel green circles.....it will bring up a send knob, turn to ajust %of signal to go to that fx channel....then you have the regular 4 sends that you had in previous versions

its easy once you start messing around with it

At the present moment I have only one tip:

Learn the keystrokes and get in the habit of using them...This seems like an obvious tip, but it took me years of using FL (from ver 2) before I took the time to train myself...Once I did though, productivity increase dramatically. And it also increase the amount of work I got done in one session...I guess this goes for any software...The more you stay off the mouse, the quicker you can get that thought out of your head and into your ears.

As time goes by, I'll keep adding to this thread...but that is all I have right now

R - Arm Record
Space - Play/start
M - Toggle Metronome on/off
L - Toggle Pattern/Song Mode
ctrl + q (quick quantize)
ctrl + u (quick Chop)
Alt + Q (quantize)
alt + U (chop)

those are the ones i use the most, if you have a fancy gamer qwerty keyboard you can put scripts (bind) on it to do some of this stuff (dont ask me)

yes u can use the select tool and select loop start and end on the timeline part of playlist.

Q: Is there any way to add additional insert channels so you are not limited to the 64?

Damn, that's sick! I don't know how to do that, but if your out of channels you can simply resample the sound your using, this way you have some free channels to use again.

But I'm sure you already knew that :P
