A new Photek single is never something to be sniffed at, even by fans of his more 'classic' sound, there's always a certain level of interest and pricking of the ears when such a respected artist pulls himself away from the hum drum of scoring movies and writing platinum selling Hip Hop and revisit his Drum & Bass roots. So it's no surprise that 'Love & War' is the subject of much rumour and conjecture, with people desperately waiting to see just what the new Photek piece is like.

Well, for your money you get a bunch of different mixes to choose from, with a veritable audiological schmorgesbord of styles. First up we'll examine the original version, a slickly produced, vocal led piece complete with soul drenched pianos and an effortlessly smooth bassline. The Hochi remix takes things on a heavier, more dancefloor tip, his winding reese bass and neck snapping drums offer a distinctly more 'TekDBZ' feel to the track. And finally, finishing off the set is America's hottest new 'Dancerock' duo LA Riots, who turn the original on its head and twist out a storming Electro House monster.

Is it 'classic' Photek? No. Is it a bloody great single? Yes.

Ahh, the Teebee fav! I never knew what it was but I love the vocal. I'll take this over any of that forgettable Photek hip hop based stuff any day. Also glad to see LA Riots getting their due. To take it full circle back to Teebee, half of that duo had a release on Subtitles as Orion.
