reason tricks 1: making your own filters

1: create combi

2: use any audio playing device (malstrome, nnxt)

3: create either a master class or a normal Eq (input audio device through it, in otherwords do not use send channels)

4: use the combis modulation system and map the filter freq, q, and strength to rotors 1, 2, and 3)

Now you have a filter that can morph from a lowpass to high pass and anyother filter type you can imagine. You can also change the q so you are not stuck with the 12 and 24 settings of the other filters.

You can also make a line mixer and load two copys of the same device and pattern (along with the trick for each) on the left and right channel alowing you to create a stereo filter witch you can configure with the combi's modulation system.

I will try to figure how to do resonance with this tonite.

Check this thread http://www.dogsonacid.com/showthrea...ighlight=reason

I made a few Z-Plane(ish) filters using a whole bunch of EQ's and Combi's a while back and we had a few other things on the go too.

Granted, you'll never make a real Z-Plane filter in Reason but some of the things that came out of the thread are extremely usable and sound unlike any other filters in Reason.
