CAMO & KROOKED - ABOVE & BEYOND - MAINFRAME RECORDINGS
The Austrian duo are at it again. Having wanting to sign one of their tunes a while back, Camo & Krooked have gone from strength to strength and seems to be in demand with some of the biggest DJs and acts in the scene of music to date, from Pendulum to Chase & Status, Zane Lowe to Annie Mac. This duo is to take DnB to a different level. After checking the album twice, I noticed a very European sound from the crew. As of course hailing from Austria they should do ? Uplifting strings and big risers and rave anthem sounds. Slapped on top of a medley on top of drum beats and bass seems to be a must with all the kids these days. So going trough the album, I came across some of my favs and ones that have been in my set for some time now. "You Cry", "Let's Go", "The Escape", "Only Me" and "Dreams" are the ones that stand out for me. Nice big floor rollers with lots atmospheric sounds, beeps and noises. But that's not saying at all the other ones are not dope. "September", which was a track originally by the one and only Future Prophecies, gets the Camo & Krooked retouch at last. While the "Lost In Heaven VIP" and "Bounce" (ft. Nemesis) are all club bangers, period, and put the icing on the cake. The last excursion on the album, "Silence" (ft. Nina), is a downtempo dream of a track. Beautiful vocals bubbling over nice dubstep breaks make this a stormer of a track - you could imagine a room full of 3000 people going off. Well, yeah something like that, I guess. So another huge album out this month coming from Camo & Krooked, make sure you run out and get this one soon and also look out for forthcoming material on John B's label Beta and Mr Futurebound's Viper imprint. Stay locked in folks as Camo & Krooked make waves for the 21st century.
