First of all, I would like to thank all the folks on The Grid who competed, from here on out it's up to the DOA massive!
We need your votes to decide who did the best job!

    Short summary!

    Objective:
To make a track that is 1 minute or more in length, using only the "Assembly Line" break by the Commodores.

    Rules:
The only sound source you are able to use is the "Assembly Line" break provided in this thread. No vst instruments or other samples are permitted. Any effect that uses waveforms as their basis for processing (i.e. vocoder) are not allowed unless you use only samples from the break as your carrier/modulation.

Choose your favorite entry from the top 11!
A complete overview of all the tracks can be found here.

    Voting stops in 7 days!

    Thanks for voting!

I had to give it to JD's "Assemble It", with an EXTREMELY close second for Miklo's "Dismantle"!

All the tracks were damn good, though! I'm impressed!!!

Thanks mate! This time I focused on the other parts of the tune and let the drums be more clean and 2-steppy. I could have added a lot more variations in the drums for sure, but the deadline came before I had a chance to sit down with it again. :smil:

Just listened to some tunes and seriously, the drum sound in Ki's tune is veery large - excellent processing mate.

Some fun editing going on in JD's tune as well. And I think Miklo's Dismantle deserves a mention because of the pads and piano-like sound. :twothumbs:

I think Miklo needs to tell us how to synthesize those pads... I'm really digging that vibe... and couldn't get anything NEARLY that thick out of that break in the time I spent with it...
