Saw this on Bleep: Bangs & Works Vol. 1

Definitely not for everyone, but the driving bass hooked me.

Then I scoped some footwork battles on YouTube. Shit's keen.

Interesting. So is this something that came out of ghetto house or something. When I first heard all that chopped up stuff and subbass in the video I was like...they're dancing to jungle?

I think so. I at least read that there are a number of ghetto house staples who have been producing this stuff.

yeah, most of the tracks that come out can get pretty annoying. there are some good ones though.
    e.g. check out this one

I agree with 2turntables, certain ones get annoying, but a few are great as standalone tracks.

    Like this for example:

DJ Roc - I Can't Control The Feeling

I kinda see this genre being big in the future if more tunes come out that are great by themselves.

    Not a fan!

Sounds like speed up Miami Bass, Ghettotech, Booty House etc

Sort of stuff DJ Funk and DJ Assult play but without the bass or general dancefloor vibe.

Definitely hear you. 2turntables hit it when he said the majority is bad and needs the context of the dancing. Though the striking cuts really transfixed me.

I'll have to do some digging, but I know there are exhilarating lightning bolts buried in there.

    haha

unlikley, but you never know. bought a 4 person apartment but yet to form a group

could only really take one of the weekender things this year and as it's bloc's birthday and the line up seems to edge it, I went for that.

should try southport one day, recommend it?

yeah, that spinn & rashid mix drove me nuts, i had to turn it off after about 25 mins, it wouldn't be so bad if they hadnt looped some really poorly chosen rap snippets over it. the stuff in the OP is better

but what is good is so fucking good. i don't know any names though

there's a short thread on dnba about it with links to mixes & tunes

    http://forum.breakbeat.co.uk/tm.aspx?m=1972209474&mpage=1

and also has this link to this near 100 page thread

Still not loving the music but the energy in the dance moves is something else! Imagine intoducing that crowd to jungle!
