Private companies could take responsibility for investigating crimes, patrolling neighbourhoods and even detaining suspects under a radical privatisation plan being put forward by two of the largest police forces in the country.

West Midlands and Surrey have invited bids from G4S and other major security companies on behalf of all forces across England and Wales to take over the delivery of a wide range of services previously carried out by the police.

The contract is the largest on police privatisation so far, with a potential value of £1.5bn over seven years, rising to a possible £3.5bn depending on how many other forces get involved.

This scale dwarfs the recent £200m contract between Lincolnshire police and G4S, under which half the force's civilian staff are to join the private security company, which will also build and run a police station for the first time.

The home secretary, Theresa May, who has imposed a 20% cut in Whitehall grants on forces, has said frontline policing can be protected by using the private sector to transform services provided to the public, but this is the first clear indication of what that will mean in practice. May said on Thursday that she hoped the "business partnership" programme would be in place next spring.

    .....

"Privatisation means that the police will be less accountable to the public. And people will no longer be able to go to the Independent Police Complaints Commission if they have a problem. When a critical incident happens, a force's ability to respond will be severely compromised. The only winners are private companies and shareholders who make profits at the expense of local services."

Stops any Mark Duggan or Menendez embarrassment by contracting it out. How the fuck it will save money I don't know. Bigger profits from racial profiling ? Maybe time to lobby your mp.

    fucking grim.

i'm sure people will argue it's for the best though, maybe if we are lucky we'll get some blackwater contractors over here?

Even on paper, how is privatisation supposed to save money? Does this make any sense at all?

Thinking about it of course they will save money by not having to provide pension provision, paying over-time, maintenance of equipment, current pay rate, etc.

The really worrying thing is that head counts arrested = higher profit margin. This is a very dangerous proposal.

    what the fuck?

so now we will have private companies running around, probably with arrest quotas, locking people up? Tell me this is something that will not actually get through please, this is madness.

what we certainly dont need is police who are not part of a public institution sworn to protect our citizens but private workers with a job description.

so what happens when someone like Rupert Murdoch actually owns the police? Are these people insane? They are going to completely destroy our country, we need unity, we need community, we dont need to be further divided up into private competing interests, this is 100x worse than privatising health care.

But remember, privatisation brings competition which in turn improves services! Jesus. Even for the Tories, this is madness.

At this rate were gonna find out the clockwork elves are actually real in about 10 years, and we will all be sitting here saying 'i dont believe the new world order exists' while we watch a politician giving a speech where he name drops the nwo 5 times and were all spending bank of the world credit with new world order written all over it.

They were talking about how theyre going to remove competition form the nhs reforms in order tog et it through on BBC radio the other day. So were bringing privatisation into the nhs because competition breeds efficiency, but now we are taking the competition out of the deal because people dont like that idea? What? So now we are bringing in private interests with no competition? Isnt that called monopoly? Is that really what we wanted? See how lines get drawn in the sand, fake lines, with a win for the elites on either side, then we all join in and force one to happen. Look at syria, after all the anti war sentiment we have been fostering, the moment we dont go in and blow up a country they find ways of making us want them to, just like theyve found a way of making us 'want' private monopolies in the nhs.

I keep saying it, look how much we are spending to fix up the tube network, we have to replace almost the entire thing and its costing us billions upon billions. I bet you a pint as soon as we are finished paying to completely upgrade the underground plans start getting drawn up behind closed doors to sell it off. They cant sell it now, no one wants it because itll cost to much to fix up, you can bet as soon as we, the people, have payed to fix it up they will turn around and sell it to someone to make profit from us.

that's already happening today, isn't it?
(public announcements of nwo related business through elected officials, gradual takeover of supranational institutions etc)

the neoliberal formulas and the machiavellian strategies in politics are SO damn simple that they still go widely unnoticed in the open.
most people just keep wondering about our leaders' competence and refuse any other explanation despite strong evidence and hard facts...
it seems too hard to accept that the destruction we are witnessing is by design. it's just too strong for weak minds, i suppose.
and so the majority of people(s) still trust the leaders, no matter how much those "fuck up" -
at any rate they all trust the system. the hope of being on the winners' side some day just keeps corrupting everyone.
seems we really are completely fucked even if we try our best, so all that's left is to be smug about it and yell at people who still fail to see the facts :teeth:

you are 100% guaranteed to win this one, so it' an unfair bet. you should be ashamed of yourself, sir.
