I struggle to find anyone as talented as Wax Doctor when it comes to creating such a mood in old school. I think Photek is a close second, but there's a certain element that WD seems to allocate in all his songs that make my dopamine sensors in my head tingle. Just epic.

    A classic Photek.

Doesn't really fit the vibe of the original tune posted in this thread but still a lovely tune.

ditto. i remember the first time hearing this on a bukem tape from like '96... soooo lovely man:

and everyone always talks about the flip of this old photek 12", "awakening", but i always preferred the haunting roller on the b-side, "genesis":

it still completely blows my mind tho, the sheer diversity of tunes photek made between 1994 and 1998. in those 4 years you couldn't sit there and say "sounds like photek", cuz it all sounded sooooo different. king of diversity imo.

Big tune, never realised it was on R & S! What a label.

I posted my favourite Wax Doctor tune previously in this thread (Atlantic Drama) but this is a close second:

man, i tell ya what, first time i heard this tune... it changed me.

the pads in this... lush isn't even the word.

prolly the deepest thing source direct put out:

and there's an alternate version of this bukem used to play, which i prefer, but this version is nearly as good:

You struggle to find tunes with this kind of emotion, for the last ten years, really.

For me the occasional dBridge track or perhaps a Naibu tune, is the only thing that comes close.

I don't know if we have had this one yet:

The original post was about a Peshay remix. Any opinions on his recent Urban Jazz tune ? Inflences form his early GLR / Metalheadz days, possibly.

nice samples but too banging, too 2-steppy...

Speaking of Future Bound, their remix of Digital's Spacefunk =

Could only find this on youtube which is just the first half the tune, and misses the second half when the pads from the original come in

lol not really sure what qualifies to get into this thread, looks like everyones
just posting their old atmospheric faves.

Anyway, said it before & will again - been looking for the title of this for years, such
a shame it wasnt released as it kicks your ass through your face.

    I really like it.

dude, i was just thinking about this tune last night. never knew what it was. i got a couple old tapes where he plays it, one of which he mixes it with an alternate unreleased version of "sands of time" (by oblivion, aka source direct)... which might be the only time i can think of where bukem mixed 2 amen tracks back to back.

who did it? sounds like it could be source direct...

Yeah I was lucky enough to be around when he usd to play all that good stuff. Was glad to finally get my hands on Sands of Time, even though it was slightly different to the dub plate.

The stuff Bukem used to play around this time was when he was at his peak imo.

Everyone else was going either 'appy 'ardcore or jungley; it was only Bukem who was pushing deeper and ambient stuff. He would occasionally tear it down with the amens though. :tea:
