I heard a few of them continue working in the music industry as engenieers, teachers, running a label...

but I suppose most of them don't and they end up working in a factory, MC Donalds, gay porn...

Probably continue with whatever other job/s they already had. I don't think many producers (these days?) make a living purely off the music.

than they are no real producers. they are fakers.

when you know you have no other choice but to produce THEN you are a producer. when you believe music will carry you over the big crunch into the next big bang. when you could release your unreleased tracks and make money off it for five years.

live the music. breath the music. go to utopia.

Yes, I was thinking about the fact that trends and genres in electronic music move so fast and so many producers are swept in this process. Very few of them can make a long term career out of their music.

Must be frustrating to pass through have been on top to be ignored in, let's say, a period of 7 years, like a beautiful woman that looses her beauty when she reaches 30 some.

i totally agree but then again its both the fault of the audience and the producer... people dont develop taste and dont go into listening deeper than the surface.

today all the songs of a whole label (say Hospitality) are more similar than any two tracks of any random artist 10 or 16 years ago.

partygoers (mainly who go to mainstream underground lol) need to realize they are mortal and not every shit is worth their attention.

producers seem not to realize that if they want things to stay as they are, things will have to change. more edge perhaps. a little more shit-talk. standing up for DNB.
