Since we can expect to see it sometime in 2012, let's start it here.

So far we know that Milestones 1 & 2 are completed, the latter 2 days ago.

Acording to the roadmap, M3 should be full into development beginning next week.

No screenshots or images to be downloaded ATM.

I find Windows 7 PERFECT. Fast, reliable, not a single glitch. And I've been using it since its prebeta 6956 version, back in 2008, followed by installing and testing all its versions up untill the RTM, on various machines and configs.

    - Scheduled tasks easily corrupted and completely fucked
    - Explorer tree view jumps stupidly sometimes when you open a new level
    - Folder size/placement not remembered
    - Mapped drives often refuse to work
    - Explorer can near enough crash when opening a large folder of tunes if one or more are very large/corrupted

Those are my main gripes at the moment. Motherfuckers

    - Folder toolbars on the start bar often disappear/rearrange themselves after a restart

ed you should try running ccleaner or getting a better pc i don't have any of those problems, i often open up 10Gb folders and have no problem.

If your folders are slow to open or buggy it could be a hardware issue?
Ive never used scheduled tasks so i can't comment on that one.

Also my mapped drives have been fine since i installed the thing.

My PC is perfectly capable of running W7 (it came with it). All the issues I mentioned are well documented, I've tried to fix them all before but come to dead ends (on Microsoft sites etc). I think the only fixable one is the scheduled tasks one but it involves much registry fuckery that tbh I'm not entirely happy doing, and I spent hours on it before to no avail.

After windows xp when I was a serious computer geek, i stopped caring about my operating system. As long as it doesn't crash and it lets my run my software, then I have no complaints. :teeth:

Most of those gripes are just simple bug fixes. The problem with windows is that they never fully developed a proper stable hardware abstraction layer for developers to use. The use of drivers to simply get a device to work is bad programming. You almost always get conflicting libraries and broken dependencies when hardware vendors are allowed to (or need to) write OS-specific drivers. One way windows has tried to remedy this is with the use of certified devices. This unfortunately puts them in the position of having to release a new OS version when new hardware comes out. So basically their exclusive closed-source dealios with hardware manufacturers makes them... apple lol! At least apple went open source and it is possible to actually use a gcc compiler on their platform.
