Facebook crew come and join us and support!
what's the purpose exactly? I dont think many dnb heads are actualy pro-racism
Racism permeates every aspect of society.
We need to stop being non-racist, and start being anti-racist
why start this?
massive racism issue in dnb is there? or just starting one?
I get that, I just wondered if it was prompted by something specific.
I think this could be a really great idea. I have an article saved somewhere from possibly DJ Mag where I think it's Blame talks about music, diversity and original Skinheads...? I'm pretty sure I've dug it out before might be able to find it again.
We are so used to hearing about tokenist campaigns to tackle racism within institutionally racist organisations, maybe this is what has prompted some of the above negative responses?
This sounds to me like a good opportunity to take some of the rich cultural capital of the DnB scene and give back to the world. I shall head over.
I really need to stop ignoring things on Facebook, the baby died, I hate Jesus, I don't like our soldiers and now I'm rascist
sorry I didnt mean to be negative, it's just I think of dnb as being something that was from the outset multiracial and about having a good rave with whoever is around, no matter their race. PLUR and all that. Plus it's a bit hard to be racist on a decent E.
It's a bit like having a "Gaurdian readers against bigotry" facebook page, they pretty much all are.
There is only one race. The Human race.
I think most people are against racism. It would make more 'sense' for lack of a better word for some nutjob to create a Drum & Bass Pro Racism group and advertise it on the internet or something
But I mean I don't think there's racism in DnB, if there is then of course this group is a good idea
More like a race to the bottom.
You're so sure there aren't alien races?
What if we are the aliens :0
No Ant People of the Hopi...
I think the intention is to acknowledge that within DnB we are well integrated which is a useful standpoint for being against racism in general i.e. OUTSIDE the scene.
emotional blackmail thread
Thats on you mate ;-)
Sorry, i'm a bit tied up with gabba against fox hunting at the moment.

i'd be interested in a partnership if you're down. im the president and CEO of drum n bass against teen pregnancy. pm me.
I think dnb could be a tool to speak up against oppression. Seeing hints of critique against various issues. Mc lines taking note of FBI, NSA, "We no respect police", to movie quotes like: "We are surrounded by a sea of products to buy" to flirting with Anonymous speech, making music videos like "American dream". Dnb is a vehicle that Is used in other issues (one could debate if it is desirable or effective) and speaking up against racism can (and have probably been done) if producers and MCs alike wants to.
Politics are a frustration that I don't need infecting my damn music!
Fuck the jokers and trolls in this thread tbh.
Interesting interview with Fabio here on racism in London clubland.
Drum & bass against all isms.
