Dehydrated Funk has the potential to be a good track IMO but for me it's ruined by the horrible processing on the bass.

    The rest are just horrible.

Makes me sad that he used to make songs like this...

I quite like Dehydrated Funk too. It's been a while since I've been excited by a High Contrast release though, which is a shame as he always used to be a favourite

TBH Rez and Questions are everything i hate in a D&B tune - those drums are just

I really love his old stuff but sadly I wouldnt touch that.

this EP made me sad, even the armand van helden remix is surprisingly weak... :(
dehydrated funk might grow on me after a few more listens, but right now the distortion on that bass sounds very annoying to me

It's coz he's never taken an eccy. He doesn't know what a record like Rez is actually for. To him it's just an accessory for a dj career in down market music venues that smell of wee and vomit. To people like me it's a vehicle to make your rush last longer in an unsecured building with speakers hastily set up inside.
Hearing this is actually offensive. It's like listening to William Shatner murder Lucy In The Sky with his terrible drunken talk-singing.
Fuck this. I knew I made the right choice fucking off that circus of sheepshit club dj muzak prats.

For Christ sake James, you go on about music like you're in some repressed minority. Give it a fucking rest will you. Not everyone sees everything through your malice tinged view on music produced by a certain label. It's boring mate.

High Contrast Would be great at doing film scores or working with Adele.
Moving over to 3 Beat was going to be a step up for him.

I think he's objectively a good producer, it's just that I don't really like any of the music he makes anymore. Which for me is personally a shame, because he used to be one of my favourites.

Ah well, I'm sure he has more fans and makes more money now, so good for him I guess.

What the fuck is going on here, a bunch of clowns slating a very good producer.
If you don't like it duck out and talk about something positive, why even start or participate in a negative thread when there is so many other of music to enjoy.
HC production is strong and has always been quality, a nice spectrum of tempos and styles, and like every other reasonably successful artist styles change thru maturity, taste, bordem etc... other than one respectable artist in this thread the rest of you go on like your the panel of spokesmen for the dnb industry, and even if you was and your not, the days of dnb accepting artists have been left in the 90s.
I personally know an unknown dnb artist that has 5 million streams on a track, where as artists like bkumarten can only dream of them numbers BUT the panel here think blurmarten is amazing, people here need to research out the box a little.
Surly dnb fans and listeners listen to all styles of music, and lets assume they don't own other music other than dnb I'm sure they hear radio and McDonald's music that they like, but have the mentality slate there own!
This country should support dnb artists for helping keep this shit music ( compared to other genres) alive.

For the Record, I never slated him once. I said he has talent.
Blu M has about a million followers on Soundcloud and produces some great music.

Other comments seem to be constructive criticism.

When Armand Van Helden makes a remix more tasteful than your original track, you know you've got problems.

    Link?

Do you want a video of me breakdancing with goldie in the wag club? Or a photo with diplo?
Either way 5 million streams is a bit better than I've done but calm down with you link.
About link, you lot want a link about everything.
Here's a link of a photo of my nob.
