Added some REX breaks. And uh. Something else. And NHF Pack 1 and 2 off facebook for you private types.Oh yeah the truth sample pack idk meh threw it in its nice but small. SO yeah. Enjoy. The rex breaks are quite nice.

@BillyTheClit I put the samples up on the ftp. NeuroHopForum Packs 1 and 2.zip

Pretty extensive pack with lots of different bits pretty organized.

    Breaks.
    Single hits.
    Bass.
Massive, Reaktor ensemble, FL, Harmor, 1 Operator + Abelton Racks.
    upload_2016-8-5_0-30-58.png

There a bit wonky on the start timing so you gotta trim some a few ms (more ?) but i guess that's what makes them neat in a way. I like that you can layer them well and process the bits least the kick drums. Havent gone into the snares. Like the breaks.

don't wanna bitch and moan but (here I'm doing it anyway :teeth:) wouldn't it be better to keep samplepacks together and just put mixes and tunes in a folder like you did? There isn't any logic to file extension.

Perhaps would help her to know which ones are sample packs; probably not obvious to someone who doesn't produce.

Presumably there's a reason for the incoming step/filtration, so maybe have sub folders in incoming where contributors can classify accordingly and make mods' lives easier.

    Yeah I don't have a scooby

I tried to keep things together that looked like they belonged together.

Incoming is where you can upload to; and only there
the root folder is not uploadable to; but you can download from there.

Hi, there were (maybe still are) a few files namned .scr. They're malware and should be deleted promptly.
Also in the folder 'zips': "Nookie Samples.zip" is just broken - porbably a unfinished upload - and "info.zip" most likely contains malware since it's semibroken and if you analyze it, it contains no audio at all just scripts and a vbe file. I would delete it.

If possible run a virus checker when there's time.

Thanks for settings this up. I've uploded a few old CDs to contribute to the collections, I hope someone finds them useful.

Thanks fella, I'll remove both those today at some stage. I did clear out the .scr's already.

I assume that most of you know to avoid that stuff; I'll keep this going as long as it's useful, and doesn't get too heavily abused by bots etc...

If there's any issues, I'll make it passworded and provide a password to those who want it..!

I PM'd you a few months back about it too, but they seem to keep reappearing (it's back now) so someone around here is either infected or likely the ftp is indexed online and being crawled by bots. Might be easier to just create a junk file with the same names as the malware and set permissions so no one can read or change it. Might even try making it .hidden.

Depending on which server you're using, you can deny certain filetypes. For example on vsftpd in the .conf I'd start with deny_file={*.scr,*.exe,*.sh,*.php}.
Changing to a non-standard port would also help, but since it seems like an automated upload denying the file type should work fine as a quick fix.

@Swiper: that is actually really good mate, fresh approach. Would have liked your voice to be a bit more in front in the mix. With some pads in the back this track could really blow of big time.

Maybe people should start the name of a samplepack with "SP-" or something...
Since this folder isn't meanth for deeplinking it doesn't matter that the name changes from the original.

@Timid if you want help in sorting those things I can help you out.

Quick tips for starters: if it's *.mp3 then it's 99.9% certain that it's not a sample pack (if it is a sample pack it will be a crappy one).
If it's *.zip you can be pretty sure that it is a sample pack (I'd say >85%), same goes for rar probably.
If the name refers to a DnB act or it says "...mix..." at some point it's probably not a sample pack.

This should help you already to sort most of them.
If you want me to help you more: PM me

Not that I have any experience dealing with this , having supplied upwards of 30 Terrabytes of .wav samples.

As long as users can directly upload to the FTP; you have no control of the file/folder system structure, file name formatting , what material should be hosted, and the usual security concerns re: priveledge escalations when you have your server with port 21 wide open to inbound connectivity solicitations.

I'm not bagging on this for any reason, beyond it being completely ameteurish. The only "sample" files worthwhile of uploading should be at minimum 16bit/44.1 or higher resolution waveforms. Samples shouldn't result in dither up/down, truncation, over-compression of the waveform data, :etc. because the starting audio file is already dithered down, normalized ,and encoded. It is detrimental to Signal to Noise Ratio.
