I mean they're not making these sounds with their mouths right?

The hardware is making these sounds and they are reselling them after all.

    Can't pirate hardware.

Well you can but it would involve ram raiding a shop.

It's weird now. Like up and down means the same here. Down to upload or up for a download. If there's no direction and a copy of a copy is less of thing then a copy or a thing...

Need Walter Benjamin in on this.

You can buy the hardware and software too, you can also buy drums produced in the early 60's, then you don't need to use samples produced by others. It's all available on ebay for lesser or even more than in the 60's.

The instruments I used in the nineties to screw sounds for the sampler have cost me about 10,000.

With my first PC DAW I was lucky, because of a business resolution, I have acquired the license for 100.

Only the PC I unfortunately had to steal in a small computer shop, I needed that kick, otherwise, all those good things in the drum n bass scene would probably have happened differently.

Had not expected these libraries going to shrink the eggs of some well-respected drum'n'bass and dubstep producers. :)

You can also make up to date music and sounds for any genre just with the intro version of any DAW and their stock plug ins. You just need to know how it works :)

I also think that people that have owned mirrors should have to pay reperations to all individuals whos souls got transfixed by them.

It's just not that standard of an opinion anymore.

in response to the thread title..no way in my opinion they should...even in the case of some devs that really only harvest the samples straight from the machine without further work (equing, using outboard to colour etc etc) and sell poorly made sample packs (loads of trap supermega hits sample packs come to mind lately...i mean how many 808 packs are out there on sale, without a CLUE about how they should sound?)

im more concerned instead with some developers instantly whining as soon as their creation gets torrented and warezed about "This is copyrighted material!!! " , while they're using, as for an example already happened in the past, an image of a Marvel (TM) comics character on the artwork of the sample package...i guess using Wolverine as artwork for a sample pack, totally ripped out of a comic cover (and i can tell even the author of the drawing, if someone denies the rip :P) isnt copyrighted material then?

Look what we have developed for ableton people that have little time learning sound design and making music after work. Or just want to get kicked straight into the ball bark. And believe it or not this will work even with your own samples or synths, and only with the stock plug ins of ableton intro. I'm pretty sure then you know also how to connect your euro rack modules that will do the same or to use your emu with a bit more patience, but more targeted.

Should restaurants / chef pay even more of a tax to a frying pan company because they use a company's pan in the kitchen?? At some point the tax has to stop. If access tryd to make me pay a tax to release a song with a bass from a synth I already payed for I would tell them to fuck then self.

Plus if you make sample selling companies pay for hardware using, guess who will have to buy more expensive samples? They also need to feed their hungry children and goldfishes.

Put aside that, when you buy a synth or any other instrument, the sounds you play with it cannot copyrighted by the instrument manufacturer. Plus, many sample facilities cooperate with instrument makers. From plain feedback to creating soundbanks for synthesizers.

Guess we all need to chill.
