P.B.K. makes some great tunes, but what does "Demo 112kbps upconvert to WAV" mean ?
    Are the originals lost ?

I means they're being misers on the streaming quality. I don't know why labels do this - you can't rip bandcamp or soundcloud streams to anything higher than 128kbps anyway.

My guess is that the free digital downloads are offered in a lower quality to encourage digital sales to go to Camino Blue, who initially released them.

I'm sure that's right, they need to offer a preview on the page on but they aren't intending to do a seperate digital release with the pressing.

Wonder how they arrived at these two tracks to press?

Why not just sell them on Bandcamp as proper wavs, rather than force people to buy them on Beatport at inflated prices?

Vinyl Backers don't get a cut from the digital sales, only the vinyl via whatever agreement they have with Camino Blue to press these tracks. Whatever digital shops Camino Blue offers the release on is their decision.

Aah, okay. Didn't realise it was a separate operation.

If you can hear it through your pc you can record it, regardless. ripping it yes but you can easily record what you hear at a better rate. would guess that's why. if the stream itself is low quality though, it'll only ever sound that good (im not sure if you you can have streams in full rate or not though?)
